A 25 hectare park designed by Woodhouse & Potts in 1863. The park boasts a fully stocked and publically accessible heated conservatory, boating lake with angling available through Medlock Angling Club and boathouse with café. There are also free tennis courts, three crown green bowling greens, a children’s play area, extensive ornamental gardens, herbaceous borders and shrub beds and the Borough's only remaining paddling pool!

Alexandra Park is home to the 'Lions Den', a public shelter that has been recreated from an original design, and now forms the focal point along the promenade.

The park is manned by a full time gardening team of eight and has a partnership arrangement with 'Park Pride', a local security firm, which ensures the park remains free from vandalism and is attractive to visitors.

The park has recently undergone a complete overhaul thanks to funding secured through the Heritage Lottery Fund and Oldham Council.

This park is well worth a visit and has been transformed into one of the country's leading urban parks.
